Gavin Gass

Gavin Gass (1793-1842) was initially in partnership with James Hope, trading as Gass & Hope. Around 1836 the partnership was dissolved, after which Gavin continued on his own account at the Annan Brewery.

When Gavin died in 1842 the business was carried on by his wife Elizabeth Gass.

The Annan Brewery was located near the river Annan, which gave it easy access to the Solway Firth for the shipping of its products.
