Buildings

This part of the site is focused on the pre-1970s buildings associated with brewing in Scotland.

In Table View youcan sort by the name of a building, a business, the year in which its use started or ended, or where it was located. You can also filter by typing part of the name, place, etc. So if you are looking for a brewery which contains the name 'Ayr', just type 'Ayr' in the 'Search' box.

In Map View just click on a marker of interest and you will be provided with the dates between which a brewery or associated building was active and an opportunity to look at a more detailed overview. Markers will often overlap in towns and cities which had multiple breweries so you may have to enlarge the map to allow you to select a specific one.

Most breweries had a name which was often passed down through successive owners. Where no formal name is known we have assigned one based on location for convenience.
