James Watson

James Watson acquired premises at the corner of Cross Street and Garden Street from Joseph Wilson, a maltster, in 1818 where he established what became known as the Wallacetown Brewery. He died in 1824, after which the business was continued by his son, also James, who formed the partnership of Watson and Brown.

James Watson established what became known as the Wallacetown Brewery in 1818 in premises acquired from Joseph Wilson on the corner of Garden Street and Cross Street. The buildings have since been demolished and the site is occupied by a modern housing development.
