Donald Mackay

Donald Mackay was probably the first owner of the Nairn Brewery. His brewery utensils were put up for sale in 1845, and acquired by William Mackintosh.

The utensils included: two copper boilers, one metal boiler, coolers, pumps, tuns, casks, ankers, half-ankers, a metal kiln, and a malt mill.

Breweries and other buildings

The Nairn Brewery consisted of a small group of buildings on Mill Road, organised around a central courtyard. The brewery was destroyed by fire in 1903 and most of the ground has since been landscaped.
