R. and J. Mitchell

The partnership of R. and J. Mitchell (Robert and John) took over the family business of John Mitchell in 1866. The partnership was dissolved in 1871 and Robert continued the business on his own account under the same name until his death in 1909.

Breweries and other buildings

What was later called the Cupar Brewery was owned by John Inglis in the 1810s. It was eventually acquired by the Mitchell family and was operational until Robert Mitchell's death in 1909. The site is now occupied by industrial units.
