Albany Brewery

Business: Andrew Greig

Location: Dunfermline

Type: Brewery

The Albany Brewery was established by the partnership of Patrick Thomas Elder and David Hutchison, trading as Elder and Hutchison from at least 1874. In 1876 Andrew Greig acquired the property and moved there from the Abbey Gardens Brewery in St Margaret Street.

After Andrew died in 1887 his wife Annabella carried on the business on her own account until she died in 1898. The brewery was offered for sale and the site was eventually cleared and became part of the neighbouring Albany Works, which produced linen.
